Spring Warbler Migration- Sharon Woods

May 1 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
$15.00

Guided Spring Warbler Walk at Sharon Woods

Join FoxCBirding for a guided spring migration walk at Sharon Woods, one of the Cincinnati area’s premier birding destinations. Each spring, this park becomes a vital stopover for migrating songbirds, especially warblers, as they travel north along the Mississippi Flyway.

Led by an experienced guide, this walk will focus on locating and identifying a variety of warbler species—often including Blackburnian, Magnolia, Nashville, Tennessee, and Yellow-throated  Warblers—along with other seasonal migrants such as vireos, thrushes, and tanagers. Participants will learn practical birding skills like identifying birds by song, spotting movement in the canopy, and understanding migration timing and habitat use.

This relaxed walk covers approximately 2-3 miles on easy-moderate trails and is suitable for birders of all experience levels. Whether you’re new to birding or looking to sharpen your warbler identification skills, this program offers a great opportunity to experience the excitement of spring migration in a beautiful natural setting.

Avoiding a weekend will help with crowds. The Gorge Trail is known to get busy and is narrow making it difficult for large groups to see birds. This walk will be geared to a small sized group to mazimize viewing and learning oppurtunites. We will also explore the new newly designed lake area.

Limited to 10 participants
