FoxC Birding was created with a simple mission: to help birders hone their skills locally, confidently, and affordably. Instead of expensive, far-flung tours, FoxC Birding focuses on meaningful time in the field — sharpening identification skills, understanding habitat, improving listening ability, and learning how to find birds on your own.
Connor Fox

Connor Fox is the founder of FoxC Birding, a Southwest Ohio–based birding guide service dedicated to helping people experience the excitement of finding and identifying birds in the field. A lifelong naturalist with a deep passion for the outdoors, Connor has loved nature since childhood. He was introduced to birding at the age of 11, and it immediately came naturally to him — identifying birds, understanding their behavior, and immersing himself in the rhythms of the natural world.
Throughout his youth, Connor attended numerous nature camps that further developed his field skills and ecological knowledge. As a late teen and young adult, he began giving back by leading bird walks and teaching nature education to younger students at Oglebay Institute’s Junior Nature Camp. These early leadership experiences helped shape his ability to communicate complex natural history concepts in a way that is engaging, clear, and inspiring.
While completing his degree Connor took many classes focused on wildlife biology. His academic training built a strong foundation in ornithology, habitat ecology, and conservation biology — knowledge he now brings directly into the field with clients.
Professionally, Connor blends science with business leadership. His experience managing a Wild Birds Unlimited franchise at multiple locations sharpened his ability to lead teams, educate customers, and grow successful programs — skills he now channels into building meaningful birding experiences through FoxC Birding.
While based in Southwest Ohio, Connor has birded extensively throughout the lower 48 states, building firsthand experience across diverse habitats. In 2024, he set and successfully completed an ambitious personal challenge to see over 600 species in a single year, ultimately documenting an impressive 622 species while only travelling to 7 states. This achievement reflects not only his dedication and field skill, but also his deep understanding of migration patterns, regional specialties, and strategic birding across the country.
Connor specializes in local hotspots, migration timing, and helping birders of all levels — from beginners to experienced listers — sharpen their identification skills. Whether guiding spring warblers, winter waterfowl, or tracking down regional rarities, Connor’s goal is simple: help others connect deeply with birds and the landscapes they inhabit.
Through FoxC Birding, he aims to promote conservation awareness, inspire curiosity, and create unforgettable moments in the field — one bird at a time.
